It is our mission to be the premier aviation services provider in the upper midwest by being perceived as a valued problem solver within our industry.

In 1990, Bob Simmers started out on the foundation that we can provide services that no one else could provide, and then do it in a way that is consistent and fair to all customers.

Sharing the same vision and passion for North Dakota aviation, Bob later partnered with Mike Aarestad to expand the operations and be able to better serve the growing needs of the aviation community. Then in November 2013, Mandan Aero Center opened to pick up the maintenance operations at the Mandan Municipal Airport with Mike Aarestad leading the effort as the Director of Maintenance. In the summer of 2015, Mike and Mandan Aero Center made the most recent move into two brand new hangars on the Mandan Airport.

Co-Owner and Director of Maintenance, Mike has been no stranger to the aircraft maintenance, as he has spent the last 35 years in the Director of Maintenance position. He was also recognized statewide as the ND Technician of the Year and is a past President of the North Dakota Professional Aviation Mechanics Association. His experience and leadership is what will help Mandan Aero Center grow and continue to service the aviation industry and Mandan community.
